ACT, SAT, and AP Exams

ACT Test Information

The majority of our juniors take the ACT test at least once.  It is required by most of the colleges and universities attended by our graduates.  ACT test scores can impact the availability of scholarships as well as financial aid, so we encourage our students to prepare for the exam as best they can.

All FVL juniors take the ACT test during a regular school day in Spring, that is within the State required testing window.  This ACT test is the same test that is being offered throughout the country on ACT National Test Dates.

Typically, the ACT test is offered on National Test Dates in September, October, December, February, April, and June for seniors or juniors who decide to take the test more than once. It is important to note that the registration deadline is approximately 5 weeks prior to the test date. There is a little bit of a grace period after the deadline, but a late fee is charged.  You can find information about National Test Dates and registration at this link - ACT Test

Registering for the ACT Test is a rather involved process, incorporating many questions about courses that have been (and will be) taken, grades, career goals, and more.  Allow some time to go through the form and thoroughly answer the questions.  You will have the ability to list the schools to which you want the test results sent.

 ACT Test Prep

There are my options available to ACT test prep.  Here are a few of them:

ACT offers online test prep and test prep guides.

ACT Test Prep, Inc is offered at Xavier & Kimberly High Schools.

UW Oshkosh offers options for both online and Saturday morning on campus test prep.

Genesis Virtual Academy offers online test prep options.

You can also find ACT test prep apps for your phone:

Google's Play Store   or    Apple's App Store

 SAT Test Information

Some of our students will need to take the SAT to be considered for their choice of post-secondary education.  Each student will need to look at the requirements of the schools to which an application is being submitted. The SAT is another test for which preparation is strongly suggested. The score will, as with the ACT, potentially greatly impact scholarships as well as available financial aid.  A prep class for the SAT is not offered at FVL as it is not a frequently-taken test by students in the area.  Search online for prep options in your area.
