Summer Workouts - Registration is Open
Under the direction of coaches who have worked with college and professional athletes, the summer workouts have been designed to develop the overall fitness of the student through speed, agility, and power training.

Session Options for Summer 2017
Workouts for Phy Ed Credit - SUMFIT .50 Credits - $150
FVL students going into grades 10, 11, or 12 in the fall of 2017 are eligible to take this class.
This elective class emphasizes strength, speed, and functional fitness. Students must attend a minimum of 25 sessions to obtain credit (participants may miss no more than 7 sessions). Class members must also satisfactorily complete assignments including mini-papers and/or essays to obtain class credit. Either the Beginner or Experienced option may be taken for credit.
Priority is given to those with schedule conflicts.

Workouts for no Phy Ed Credit - $75
Summer Workouts emphasize strength, speed, and functional fitness. No minimum attendance requirements, and no papers or essays are assigned. Either the Beginner or Experienced option may be selected, depending on your incoming grade and whether this is your first or a returning year.

SESSION 1 - BEGINNER - available (limit 80 students)
The pace and level of hands-on instruction in this session are appropriate for those new to speed, agility, and resistance training.
Who can enroll? Students entering grades 7-8, incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors who did not participate last year.
SESSION 2 - EXPERIENCED (limit 120 students)
Students who are familiar with techniques and equipment listed in Session 1 will fit in well in this session. Training intensity will be increased, and the level of hands-on training decreased.
Who can enroll? Incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors who participated last summer.
John is FVL's Strength and Conditioning Coach. He holds a masters degree in sports management with an emphasis in coaching. In addition, he recently earned a certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. During his coaching career, he has worked at various levels of college athletics with stops at the University of Utah, the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and UW Whitewater. In 2007, he helped coach Whitewater to their first NCAA National Championship in football.
As a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified strength and conditioning specialist, Mr. Bentz brings his expertise and over 35 years of experience to our staff.
