Financial Aid

FVL's Financial Aid program exists so that no student is denied a Christian high school education due to financial need.

Sixty percent of 2nd graders know which high school they will be attending; financial planning while your children are young can help make FVL even more affordable. And don't forget our new Scrip program through which parents can bank money for their child's FVL tuition.

GROWING ASSISTANCE NEEDS:
Tuition grants have more than doubled since 2000. (See figures at right.)

Each year the school receives tuition assistance gifts from individuals interested in helping students attend FVL. The FVL Endowment Fund also provides important funding for this need. The Student Council, too, has been raising about $20,000 annually to help fellow students. Several Federation congregations also provide financial assistance for students from their church.

APPLICATION PROCESS:  Each year, families are to apply for financial aid during the spring registration process. Applications are available from the school office and are mailed to all families in the March or April Fox Tracks newsletter.  Applications are due May 15. Assistance grants for the coming school year are awarded in June.

WHAT IF OUR FAMILY RUNS INTO FINANCIAL PROBLEMS DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR?
Special financial situations -- loss of income, family illness or accident, disability -- that surface during the school year should be brought to the attention of the Principal as soon as possible.

DISTRIBUTION OF AID:  All assistance grants are distributed monthly as family tuition payments are recorded. Families who receive tuition assistance are not eligible for the full payment discounts offered in July.

FORFEITING FINANCIAL AID:  Students found to be involved in repeated unChristian behavior or who by their actions and words show they are not in harmony with the philosophy of the school, may forfeit their eligibility for their tuition assistance grant upon recommendation of the FVL administration and approval of the FVL Board of Regents.

HOW CAN I HELP?  Gifts for tuition assistance are always appreciated and needed. Gifts may be given directly to the school for the current school year or may be given to the FVL Endowment Fund.
