Living Values

The high school years shape more than transcripts and test scores. They shape character, faith, friendships, and purpose. At Fox Valley Lutheran High School, every class, conversation, activity, and opportunity is built on one unchanging foundation—Jesus Christ.

Our Mission:
Fox Valley Lutheran High School, in partnership with families and Federation churches, provides students with a Christ-centered education preparing teens for lives of service and for eternity.

That mission comes to life every day through five Core Values that guide every decision we make.

Christ Centered Education

“. . . and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:15–17

“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.”  John 20:31

Faith isn’t a single class period on a student's schedule. It is an intentional part of every classroom, athletic practice, and daily interaction. At FVL, your teenager doesn't have to separate their faith from their education. Our goal is to help students know Christ, understand His Word, and confidently live out their faith in a complex world.

  • Daily Spiritual Practice: Grounded in daily chapel, beginning and end-of-day prayer, religion classes, and Mentor Bible studies.
  • Scripture-Based Learning: Every academic subject is approached through a biblical perspective.
  • Authentic Mentorship: Faculty and staff who actively model Christian values and offer grace-filled guidance.

Family Focused Partnership

“Come my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.”  Psalm 34:11

Education works best when school, home, and church pull in the same direction. Parents are a child's first and most important teachers. High school brings new challenges, and you shouldn’t have to navigate them in isolation. We intentionally partner with families and our Federation churches to ensure your student is supported academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

  • Transparent Communication: Direct, easy access to teachers and administration regarding your child's progress.
  • Shared Values: Reinforcing the same Christian principles at school that you value at home.
  • Practical Support: Guidance and resources for parents through every milestone of the high school years.

Relationship Driven Community

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34–35

Students thrive when they are genuinely known. In an era where teenagers face unprecedented isolation, FVL offers a true sense of belonging. Here, teachers know students by name, coaches mentor beyond the scoreboard, and classmates support one another. This community extends across the Fox Valley, creating a lifelong network of encouragement.

  • Personal Attention: A school culture committed to helping students feel known, supported, and valued throughout their time here.
  • Regional Connections: Deep roots within our Federation churches, FVL Schools, and local Appleton-area organizations.
  • A Lasting Network: An active alumni community that supports students long after graduation.

Inspired to Humble Service

“Therefore, as we have opportunity let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:10

True leadership begins with serving others. We encourage students to look at the world around them and see how their God-given talents can bless someone else. Through local outreach and school-led initiatives, FVL provides regular opportunities for students to move beyond themselves and practice a lifestyle of Christian charity.

  • Hands-On Leadership: Regular access to student-led blood drives, local community service projects, and peer leadership.
  • On-Campus Mentorship: Structured avenues for upperclassmen to guide and encourage younger students.
  • A Culture of Charity: An environment designed to help volunteer work transition from a requirement into a meaningful habit.

Pursuit of Excellence

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”  Colossians 3:23

Excellence isn't about outshining others—it’s about honoring God with the gifts He has given. Every student has a distinct set of talents. At FVL, we challenge students to grow academically, creatively, and personally. We provide college-preparatory rigor alongside Christ-centered encouragement, so students are equipped to step into post-high school life.

  • Comprehensive Academic Paths: Access to innovative educational programs, hands-on STEM pathways, and modern learning spaces.
  • Cocurricular Growth: Opportunities to participate in competitive Fox Valley athletics and award-winning fine arts programs.
  • Supportive Faculty: Instructors who emphasize both character development and academic accountability.

A Community Built on Christ

The five Core Values aren't simply statements displayed on a wall.

  • They shape our classrooms.
  • They guide our decisions.
  • They strengthen our community.
  • And they help prepare students to make a lasting impact—in college, in their careers, in their communities, and for eternity.
