On-Call Substitute Teacher

Reports to: Administrative Assistant and Principal
Position: Instruct/supervise students as directed by the classroom teacher
(hours may vary, paid per period covered)
Per Class Pay: $40/Class on Block Days (4 classes/day) , $20/Class on 8-Period Days
These are hired positions. They will be posted in the Federation, and interviews will be held to secure the best candidates for serving as on-call substitutes.

Qualifications
- Must be an active member of a WELS/ELS congregation committed to Christian Education
- Must have a bachelor's degree (preferred in education, but not required)
- Ability to manage classroom space, keeping students on task
- Proficient with basic technology (texting, emailing, and general computer use)
- High degree of professionalism in interactions with the students, faculty, and staff
- Punctual, dependable, and flexible with an attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Carry out instructions from the classroom teacher for the periods assigned
- Take attendance and share with the Attendance Coordinator
- Report any incidents or concerns to the classroom teacher, Administrative Assistant, or other available administrator
- Periodically review emergency procedures in the substitute folder
- Timely responses about schedule availability with the Administrative Assistant
Complete the time card for the Business Office by the payroll deadline
Specific Duties
- Report to the school office at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the assigned period
- Pick up a substitute teacher badge, key/FOB, and substitute folder from the School Office
- Review instructions from classroom teachers for periods assigned
- Log off the classroom computer (as needed), turn off the lights, lock and close the door after the period
- Communicate any issues regarding teacher directions or classroom behaviors before leaving campus
- Submit attendance information to the Attendance Coordinator by email or paper roster before leaving campus
Financial Controller
- Reports to: President
- Position: The Financial Controller is responsible for management of the school’s finances, overseeing the Business Office operations, overseeing the Front Office, and overseeing the SCRIP Office. This person reports directly to the President, but is also responsible to the FVL Finance Committee, Board of Regents, and the FVL Federation. This person oversees all financial responsibilities and reporting. The individual works closely with accountants, financial advisors, and auditors to maintain financial compliance and accuracy on all financial accounts.
- Salary: $75,000, increases with experience

QUALIFICATIONS
- Be well grounded in God’s Word in keeping with our mission of preparing students for lives of service and for eternity
- Sit at the feet of Jesus through regular personal and public Bible study
- Be an active member of an FVL Federation Congregation
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, accounting, or business
administration (or possess equivalent work experience) - Be familiar with generally accepted accounting principles - especially for non-profit organizations
- Possess the self-discipline necessary to work proactively and without direct supervision
- Be proficient in the use of technology
- Be proficient in administration, communication, coordination, and implementation of serving students and their families
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Possess strong interpersonal relationship skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise payroll and related expenditures
- Maintain budget control of all departments
- Invest and borrow Federation funds at the direction of the FVL President and/or Finance Committee
- Attends Finance Committee and applicable sub-committee meetings
- Provides training to internal Skyward Users of the Finance and Employee Access modules
- Oversees and manages reports and personnel for the SCRIP Office
- Ensures all tuition is collected or covered by Financial Aid
- Review the Food Services vendor annually
- Advises the Food Services vendor on policies and other matters pertaining to the program
- Supervises the filing of proper reports with government agencies, including the milk program
- Assists in preparing for departments annual budgets
- Oversees and supports employees with their enrollments in all benefits approved by the Board of Regents
- Serves as the Administrator to the 403b plan with Hahn Financial along with 403b year-end reports
- Oversees all billing for tuition, yearbooks, CAPP classes, Choice and SNSP
- Oversees billing collected for International tuition, housing and insurance billing
- Reviews the business insurance and workers compensation insurance
- Reviews annual contract with vending machine vendors Busing Contractors, and ThedaCare
- Reviews annual contracts with electronic payment option vendors (i.e., Square, eFunds, League Apps, flywire, FACTS)
- Oversees and prepares all benefits when they renew
- Manages leasing agreements - copier, computers, etc.
- Manages and oversees all checking, savings and credit cards accounts
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Approves all requisitions
- Approves the payments for all accounts payable
- Helps prepare the annual budget for review by the appropriate departments and administration
- Prepares financial reports for departments, administration, committees and Board of Regents
- Prepares for regular audits of all financial systems and School Choice audits
- Performs monthly budget to actual review for all departments
- Interviews, hires, and reviews the Business Office, Front Office, and SCRIP Office personnel
- Complies with DPI regulations for the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program and Special Needs
Scholarship Program - Makes bank deposits
- Reconciles and reports regularly on non-budgeted funds (i.e., clubs, gifts, youth sports, LVW)
- Oversees preparation of the annual contracts for all FVL employees
- Manage and submit Title II paperwork
- Sets up assists employees with purchasing procedures and processes in Skyward
- Oversee and assists with online registrations setup for Youth programs, FVL School band, LVW
- Oversee and assist with all setup for online payments and fee collections
- Oversee payments and tracking for Scholarship funds
- Assists President in tracking all invoices for campus building projects, equipment purchases, and special projects
- Oversee and manages all background and vehicle checks
This staff position is full time, year round salaried position averaging 40 hours per week.
