This semester course emphasizes the development of the six traits of writing as they apply to argumentative, rhetorical, literary response, and creative pieces. Students will learn to organize and communicate their ideas with clarity and style through analysis of both informative and literary texts.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is the key work studied.
- Prerequisite: Language Arts 2 or Advanced Language Arts 2
- Required: No, but students intending on taking College British Literature MUST take either Advanced Language Arts and Composition (ALACOM) or Advanced American Literature and Composition (AAMLIT) during their junior year.
