ENG - World Literature (WORLIT)

A semester elective course that serves as an introductory survey of world literature and drama. Students will study world texts from a variety of perspectives and traditions in an effort to deepen understanding of other cultures and patterns of thought. Several cultural outings will be part of the course. Major works studied include Achebe's Things Fall Apart and Remarque's All Quiet on the Western Front. Writing projects will include a reflective essay on a cultural experience as well as a research project and presentation on an important world author and his or her major work.
