PHYED - All-Time Favorites (ATFAV)

0.5 CREDIT
Grades 10, 11, 12

This is a dual section class that will focus on CPR/first aid, lacrosse, and bowling fundamentals.

  • CPR/FIRST AID - This course is designed to teach students currently accepted procedures and principles for CPR and First Aid to be followed in the event of an accident or sudden illness.  Upon completing the course, students will be able to receive official certification from the American Heart Association in CPR, First Aid, and AED (official certification is an additional fee around $15).
  • LACROSSE - Physical education lacrosse, also known as soft-stick lacrosse, is a co-ed version of lacrosse that utilizes modified equipment and rules and is designed for students to execute the basic skills of lacrosse: cradling, scooping, passing, catching, and shooting.  The rules of soft-stick lacrosse and the modified equipment also make it a version of the sport that does not require protective equipment to learn and enjoy.
  • BOWLING - This course will join both sections together to teach bowling skills and how to score bowling games.  The class will be divided into teams and compete in a regular bowling league.  We will be heading to Super Bowl bowling alley every morning in the second and third terms.  The bus will be leaving at 7:45 AM!
