This course examines ecosystems, biodiversity, and population dynamics, with attention to pollution, invasive species, endangered species, and global changes such as ocean warming and acidification. Students investigate human impacts on biodiversity and strategies for conservation. Christian stewardship is a primary perspective in the study of these topics.
Recommendation: This course emphasizes conceptual understanding and practical applications rather than extensive mathematical calculations. It should not be used as an alternative to Chemistry or Physics for the college bound student who is capable of average or above average performance in science. It can be taken in addition to Chemistry and Physics.
Note: This course may not satisfy the lab science requirements of some colleges.
