This course is designed for the motivated and independent student. The course curriculum includes a review of key grammar concepts, but the major focus is Hispanic literature and culture. Students will read a series of novels in Spanish and examine the social issues within that context. The class is conducted entirely in Spanish with a focus on student-driven discussions and presentations.
Prerequisite: B- or higher in the second semester of Spanish 4 or teacher approval under an Academic Contract. A student may take Spanish 4 and Spanish 5 concurrently with instructor approval.
