Metals Shop
The FVL Metals Shop opened its classroom doors in August 2016. Construction took place over the summer of that year. Under the leadership of teacher Mark Krause, the curriculum now includes three courses. Mr. Krause is certified as an instructor through Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC), and FVL students are able to earn FVTC credits through FVL's metals/welding program.
Excellence in
Technical Education Award
FVL's Metals program was presented with the first-ever Excellence in Technical Education Award in Spring 2019. This award highlights the opportunity for Northeast Wisconsin high school students to enhance their technical skills and career prospects. FVL was selected based on their "effective approaches to stimulating student learning" by offering more classes and challenging work-based learning experiences. This honor was conferred by the UA 400 Pipe Trades, the Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA), and Miller Electric. FVL was presented with a Miller Multimatic Wire Feed Welder valued at $2K.
