Under the direction of coaches who have worked with college and professional athletes, the summer workouts have been designed to develop the overall fitness of the student through speed, agility, and power training.

 Session Options for Summer 2018

Workouts for no Phy Ed Credit - $90

Summer Workouts emphasize strength, speed, and functional fitness. No minimum attendance requirements, and no papers or essays are assigned. Either the Beginner or Experienced option may be selected, depending on your incoming grade and whether this is your first or a returning year.

SESSION 1 - BEGINNER - available (limit 100 students)

The pace and level of hands-on instruction in this session are appropriate for those new to speed, agility, and resistance training.

Who can enroll? Students entering grades 7-8, incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors who did not participate last year.


SESSION 2 - EXPERIENCED (limit 140 students) - This session is FULL

Students who are familiar with techniques and equipment listed in Session 1 will fit in well in this session. Training intensity will be increased, and the level of hands-on training decreased.

Who can enroll? Students entering grade 8 who participated last summer, and incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors who participated last summer.

Coaches

John O'Connor
John is FVL's Strength and Conditioning Coach. He holds a masters degree in sports management with an emphasis in coaching. In addition, he recently earned a certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. During his coaching career, he has worked at various levels of college athletics with stops at the University of Utah, the University of Michigan, Wayne State University, and UW Whitewater. In 2007, he helped coach Whitewater to their first NCAA National Championship in football.  

Tim Bentz
As a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified strength and conditioning specialist, Mr. Bentz brings his expertise and over 35 years of experience to our staff.
