Faith IMPACT

Serving Others and Sharing Jesus

IMPACT is Fox Valley Lutheran's mission-trip and ministry experience program. Through opportunities to serve locally, across the United States, and around the world, students put their faith into action while sharing Christ's love with others.

These opportunities allow FVL students to grow in faith, experience different cultures, serve alongside congregations and ministries, and discover how God can use their gifts in his kingdom. Whether close to home or across the globe, students witness firsthand the joy and blessings of putting their faith into action.

Why IMPACT?

Mission work changes lives—both for those being served and for those who serve.

Established in 2024, IMPACT provides opportunities for students to experience ministry beyond the classroom. By partnering with congregations, schools, and mission organizations, students gain firsthand experience sharing Christ's love while growing in faith, compassion, and leadership.

These experiences help students see the many ways God works through his people and encourage them to consider how they might support ministry throughout their lives—whether through service in their congregations, mission work, or careers in public ministry.

Through IMPACT, students can:

  • Serve communities in meaningful ways
  • Share Christ's love with others
  • Experience different cultures and ministries
  • Grow in faith and leadership
  • Build friendships and teamwork
  • Explore future opportunities in ministry and service
  • Witness God's work in communities near and far

Where Do FVL Students Serve?

  • Local
Students may serve communities close to home through outreach events, Vacation Bible Schools, service projects, and partnerships with congregations and schools.

  • Across the United States
Mission trips throughout the country provide opportunities to support growing ministries and share Christ with communities in need.

  • International Opportunities
As God opens doors, students may have opportunities to serve alongside mission partners around the world while learning about different cultures and witnessing the global reach of the gospel.

Growing Through Service

Go and make disciples of all nations. — Matthew 28:19

IMPACT seeks to do more than organize trips. It seeks to cultivate hearts for ministry.

Students return with a deeper appreciation for God's blessings, stronger friendships, and a broader understanding of the opportunities to serve in Christ's kingdom. For some, these experiences may even spark an interest in becoming pastors, teachers, staff ministers, or lifelong supporters of gospel ministry through their local congregations.

How Students Participate

Students interested in participating in IMPACT opportunities apply based on their interests, gifts, and the needs of each mission experience. Available trips and dates are shared annually, and students are selected to form teams that can best serve each ministry partner.

Fox Valley Lutheran provides financial support for mission opportunities, and participating students share in the cost of the experience. Faculty and ministry leaders work together to prepare students and chaperones for meaningful service and Christ-centered leadership.

Faith in Action

At Fox Valley Lutheran, faith is lived—not just learned.

Through IMPACT, students experience the privilege of serving others, sharing Jesus, and witnessing God's work in communities near and far. Along the way, they discover that each of us has a role to play in carrying out the Great Commission.
