In the past, March has always been one of my favorite months. The snow is starting to melt, the days are noticeably longer, spring break is a nice respite from the normal, Easter is close, the end of the school year is in sight, and of course - Shamrock Shakes!
As we begin this month, here's what we have going on:
- Rehearsal - this Saturday (March 6). Cadet Band is in the Band Room; Concert Winds is in the Commons.
- Rehearsal - March 27
- Sign up here to help take attendance for either of these or future dates. (or find the link under Volunteers on the Band Member News page of our website)
Mark your calendars:
- April 11 - Rehearsal
- April 18 - Rehearsal
- May 1 - Rehearsal
- May 8 - Dress Rehearsal for Concert
- Sunday, May 9 - FVL Schools Middle School & High School Band Concert, 1:00 & 3:00pm - Please note that we are performing twice this day in order to safely accommodate as many people as possible, because we get to have live audiences for this concert! Also watch for more details and opportunities to volunteer as we plan to have a tailgate party of sorts (a better event name is coming) that afternoon in conjunction with the concert.
Three more kids made it to the 1000-Minute Club and one more has made it to the 2500-Minute Club! Congrats!
Thanks for all you and your kids are doing! We've had some fantastic lessons over the past few weeks - it's been a lot of fun to see the continued progress and growth! I've also noticed how many kids are enjoying the band music and are working hard to learn their parts. I'm looking forward to hearing the culmination of their work at the concert! Not only that, but plans for next year are already beginning, and I am really excited for what's coming. Amazing is the word that comes to mind. :)
God's blessings on the rest of your week!
