• WHEN:
  • Tryouts will happen on Wednesday, July 23, or Wednesday, July 30.
    • 8U   - 3:45 PM - 5:00 PM both nights (pick one night to try out)
    • 10U - 3:45 PM - 5:00 PM both nights (pick one night to try out)
    • 12U - 4:45 PM - 6:30 PM both nights (pick one night to try out)
    • 14U - 6:15 PM - 8:00 PM both nights (pick one night to try out)

  *Players are encouraged to get to the field early to warm up (throw and stretch) on their own

• Players will receive Team Invitations via email by noon on Friday, August 1st, 2025
• Players will need to accept/decline the invitation by midnight on Saturday August 2 so that other players can be asked to fill the team if necessary.
• We will hope to have ALL team decisions made no later than Tuesday, August 5.
   
• Other team details to consider:
  • Cost to play in 10U, 12U, and 14U is $400 which includes tournament fees, league fees, team equipment needs, umpire fees, uniforms (as needed) etc.
  • The 8U team cost is $250, since they will be in fewer tournaments.
  • In-Season practices start in March on Sundays. When weather allows, an additional Tuesday or Wednesday practice will be added until the season ends in July.
  • Off-Season optional practices will be offered for pitching, catching and hitting
     
• AGE DEADLINES:
  • 8U players must be 8 years old or younger on September 1, 2025
  • 10U players must be 10 years old or younger on September 1, 2025
  • 12U players must be 12 years old or younger on September 1, 2025
  • 14U players must be 14 years old or younger on September 1, 2025
     
• COST: No Cost to Tryout. Financial & time commitment will come after teams are established.

• What to bring if tryouts are outdoors:
  glove, helmet, cleats, softball pants, fielding facemask (optional bat)
   
• What to bring if weather forces tryouts indoors:
  glove, helmet, gym shoes, facemask

Tryouts are intended to help us place all players on an FVL youth softball team. The number of teams will be determined by the number of players who try out. 

Please share if the player trying out has any pitching or catching experience, or is willing to learn either of those positions.
