02 - Philosophy and Purpose

Fox Valley Lutheran High School is owned, governed, and operated by the WELS congregations that comprise the Fox Valley Lutheran High School Federation. Because ours is a ministry of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), all of our faculty and staff members, as well as substitute teachers, coaches, etc., are members of WELS congregations. The primary concern of the FVL Federation is to provide a Christ-centered secondary education which prepares young adults for service to their Savior and for eternity—for the day they meet Jesus. God’s Word clearly states that parent(s) are to “train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Through the Apostle Paul, God instructs parents to bring up our children “in the training and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). All courses of instruction, cocurricular activities, and school discipline are permeated with a Christian spirit. The curriculum of FVL is designed to prepare our youth to become dedicated Christian adults. An academic program is available to those students who wish to continue their education in any type of school or college, as well as those who wish to prepare for full-time work in the church as pastors, teachers, or staff ministers. FVL also offers a general high school program for those students who do not intend to continue formal education after their high school years, as well as for those who desire to serve our nation in the military.
