03 - Core Assessments
Teachers will designate core assessments that must be satisfactorily completed in order to earn credit for the semester. These core assessments, where possible, should be identified in the course syllabus distributed at the beginning of the course. In certain instances, particularly where performance and participation represent a majority of the calculated grade, all course assessments may be designated as core. Core assessments’ final grades must be at least 50% and will be no higher than 100%.
Incomplete core assessments may temporarily be entered as 0% in the gradebook. However, unfinished core assessments will result in an Incomplete (INC) for the course until satisfactorily completed. If core assessments have not been completed by the end-of-semester grading deadline, the student will receive a failing grade for the semester and will not earn credit. All other incomplete non-core assessments may remain at 0% if not satisfactorily completed by the end-of-semester grading deadline.
