To be eligible for recognition as Valedictorian or Salutatorian, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time student at Fox Valley Lutheran High School beginning no later than the start of their sophomore year.
These honors are awarded to the top-performing academic students based on cumulative GPA. In the event of a tie, the following tiebreakers may be used (in order):
- Number of college course credits earned
- Total credits earned
- ACT scores, if necessary
A full summary of the tiebreaking criteria is available from the Guidance Office upon request.
Graduation Class Speakers
Seniors who are members of the National Honor Society, Peer Leadership Group, and Student Council, along with faculty members, may submit nominations for the male and female Class Speakers. The final selection is made through a faculty vote.
Because the graduation ceremony is a Christian worship service, Class Speakers must be members of a Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) or Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS) congregation. Eligible students must have been full-time students at FVL beginning no later than the start of their junior year, and must have demonstrated consistent commitment to both academic diligence and Christian conduct throughout high school.
