10 - Graduation - Speakers/Valedictorian/Salutatorian

To be eligible to be named as school Valedictorian or Salutatorian, a student must have been a full-time student at Fox Valley Lutheran High School from the beginning of his/her sophomore year.

The Valedictorian and Salutatorian are identified as the top-performing academic students based on GPA. If there is a tie with GPA, additional tiebreakers are utilized, including college course credits earned, total credits earned, and ACT scores if necessary. A complete summary of the tie-breakers can be provided upon request from the Guidance Office.

Seniors who are members of National Honor Society, Peer Leadership Group, and Student Council—along with faculty members—submit nominations for the male and female graduation Class Speakers. Faculty members then vote for the speakers. Because the graduation ceremony is a worship service, the class speakers are to be members of a WELS or ELS congregation. To be eligible to serve as a Class Speaker, a student must have been a full-time student at FVL from the beginning of his/her junior year. The student speakers must have remained diligent in study and Christian behavior throughout their time in high school.
