Homecoming Dance - September 28, 2024

• WHEN - Saturday, September 28, from 8-11 PM
• WHERE - FVL Commons

General Information:

• The cost of the dance is $15/person and will be paid in cash at the door; please bring your School ID with you to scan into the dance.
• If you leave the dance before 11 PM, you will need to sign-out at the Canteen with one of the teachers.

Guests:

• Students may bring 1 guest to the dance. The guest cannot be in middle or grade school, and they also cannot be over 21.
• The FVL Student is responsible for their own behavior as well as the behavior of their guest.
• The FVL Student is also responsible for informing their guest of FVL's Dress Code.

Dress Code:

The dance Dress Code is on pages 41-42 of the handbook.

Ladies

• Necklines must be from armpit to armpit.
• Sheer panels or cut-outs are not permitted.
• Two-piece dresses are acceptable as long as there is no gap between the top and bottom pieces.
• Dresses should not be more than 4 inches above the knee.

Gentlemen

• A shirt and tie are required.
• Dress suit or jacket are encouraged.
• Jeans are not acceptable.
   

Winter Formal Dance - Saturday, February 7, 2026

• WHEN - Saturday, February 7, from 7:00-10:00 PM
• WHERE - FVL Commons

To help the night run smoothly, we’re asking for your partnership in reviewing dress code expectations with your son or daughter ahead of time. Our intent is not to judge individual choices that vary in many ways, but we do need to have a clear and consistent standard, and this is the expectation for our students when they enter the dance.

Dress Code Highlights

For girls:

• Dresses must be no shorter than 4" above the knee.
• Slits must also stay within that same limit.
• Tops must fully cover from armpit to armpit.
• No sheer panels or cutouts.
• Two-piece dresses are acceptable as long as there is no midriff showing.

For boys:

• Shirt and tie required.
• Suit coat preferred.
• No jeans.

We do have supplies available for students who arrive out of dress code, but we would strongly prefer not to need them.

Event Expectations & Logistics

• Cost: $10 cash at the door
• Students must bring their school ID to check in
• Doors open at 7:00 PM and close at 8:00 PM (no entry after 8:00)
• FVL students may bring one guest
• Guests may not be 21 or older
• The FVL student is responsible for their own behavior and dress as well as that of their guest. 

As part of the week’s fun, we’ll have dress-up days all week and a pep rally on Friday, February 6, from 2:15–3:15 PM to recognize our winter cocurricular activities.

• Doors open at 8:00 PM and close at 9:00 PM.
• Prom is for Junior or Senior students only.
• Students who leave before 11:00 PM must sign out with a designated teacher.

Guests:

• Students may bring one guest.
• Guests must be at least a Sophomore and cannot be 21 or older.
• The FVL student is responsible for their own behavior and the behavior of their guest.
• The FVL student must ensure their guest follows the FVL Dress Code.
