PLC Late Start Updates for 2026-27

Since the fall of 2023, FVL has incorporated late starts to provide time for teacher professional development. PLC Late Starts are held on Fridays most weeks.

Classes will begin at 8:30 AM instead of the normal time of 7:55. Commons will be open to study, eat breakfast, and wait until the academic wing doors open.

Mentor Home Visits

Each FVL student is assigned a teacher as his/her mentor. Mentors will contact parents in late July/early August to set up an appointment to visit the student and family before the school year begins. All visits should be completed by Orientation Day (Monday, August 24). At this visit, the mentor will share information and answer questions for the student and parents. Information covered will include:

• Skyward Family Access and instructions to complete forms in Skyward Family Access
• How to set up the online payment plan for hot lunch (e-Funds)
• Information about Chromebook use
• Block Schedules and PLC Days
• Pick-up/Drop-off Traffic Flow and Parking
• Locker padlocks will be handed out at these visits at no charge
   

Dress Code & School Supplies
